Loss of Liberty in NYC

Children who go to preschool or day care in New York City will now be required to get flu shots.

If you have been following me at all, then you know how I feel about this lunacy!!

Research is not conclusive that the flu vaccine is effective especially in children and the elderly. The head of the CDC even said last year that the flu vaccine is not a good vaccine. Have you read the reports of children in Europe who now have narcolepsy as a result of the swine flu vaccine several years ago? http://www.theguardian.com/society/2013/sep/19/swine-flu-vaccine-narcolepsy-uk

The flu vaccine is a guessing game EVERY YEAR. With so many strains of the flu, the vaccine only protects against a strain or two. For those vaccinated, you just have to hope they guessed right as to which will be the most prevalent strain for each season. While the CDC loves to broadcast that the vaccine is 62% effective like they did last year, they later recanted and said it was only 6% effective in the elderly. Also, these numbers were based on a sampling of 1100 people out of the 138 million who received the vaccine. They also note that of those 1100, they take their word that they received the vaccine rather than giving the the vaccine as part of the study. (Seems a little lax to me!).

The Cochrane Review best answers the question of validity of the many studies conducted touting the effectiveness of the flu vaccine. Cochrane is an organization that examines whether industry sponsorship of clinical trials has an impact on research outcomes. In 2010, they concluded, “reliable evidence on influenza vaccines is thin, but there is evidence of widespread manipulation of conclusions and spurious notoriety of the studies.”

Fear mongering is rampant. 36,000 die annually from the flu. However, Dr. Doshi of John Hopkins, says these statistics are very misleading. Many people are not tested to see if they have the flu. They just assume respiratory symptoms mean the flu. Secondly, death certificates rarely say death from flu. There are usually underlying health issues. The numbers therefore measure excessive deaths within a period of influenza circulation. Usually there are only around 140 deaths per year from the flu…far less than 36,000!!!!!

Read Dr. Doshi’s recent article published in the British Medical Journal about how the flu is more about marketing a disease. “The vaccine might be less beneficial and less safe than has been claimed, and the threat of influenza appears overstated.”http://www.bmj.com/content/346/bmj.f3037.

Bottomline, a healthy immune system is key. Eat well, exercise, take vitamin D in the winter, take naps, meditate and stay positive. All great for staying healthy.

The vaccine, on the other hand, is a cocktail of toxic chemicals. While the vaccine may provide psychological comfort that you have proactively done something to prevent the flu, who knows what else may come from a concerted onslaught of toxins in the body year after year. We really don’t know because there has never been a study in the US of vaccinated versus unvaccinated. However, a recent vaccinated versus unvaccinated study conducted in Hong King led to some startling results. People receiving the flu vaccine suffered from other respiratory infections at a rate 5.5 times more than the placebo group! http://gaia-health.com/gaia-blog/2013-06-02/flu-vax-causes-5-5-times-more-respiratory-infections/

Interestingly, I have met many unvaccinated adults and they are the healthiest people I know as are their children who are also unvaccinated.

Please read my article from last year about the flu vaccine.https://doyourhw.org/2013/01/28/2012-2013-influenza-to-vaccinate-or-not/
Know the facts and then make a decision as to whether this vaccine is right for you and your family. However, most importantly,  this is not a decision that the city or state should ever be entitled to MANDATE!!!

The flu vaccine is a windfall to pharmaceuticals and they must be loving Mayor Bloomberg right now.
